Last updated: 29 July 2026. This notice explains how Just a Flying Dutchman uses personal information from visitors, mentoring enquiries and member accounts.
Who is responsible
Just a Flying Dutchman is responsible for information submitted through this website. For privacy questions or requests, email info@justaflyingdutchman.com.
Information we process
For a member account, we process the username, name and email address you provide, an encrypted password record, account and email-verification status, and security or delivery records needed to operate the account. The Pilot Journey Checklist stores the milestones you mark complete and their timestamps. If you invite Joris to view your checklist, we store the grant, any later revocation and the relevant timestamps. We also process information submitted in mentoring enquiries and may receive technical records such as IP address, browser and request time from the hosting and anti-abuse services.
How and why we use it
We use this information to create and secure your account, send verification and password-reset messages, save your private checklist, respond to enquiries and prevent misuse. Account and checklist processing is necessary to provide the member service you request. Security and reliable operation are our legitimate interests. Sharing a checklist with Joris is optional and happens only after your explicit action.
Private checklists and mentor access
Your Pilot Journey Checklist is private by default. Joris can see it only after you select the sharing control. You can revoke access at any time, after which it no longer appears in Joris’s shared-checklist dashboard. A site administrator may access member data only when necessary for security, recovery, support or legal compliance.
Hosting, email and anti-abuse providers
The website and its backups are hosted by IONOS. IONOS also provides authenticated email delivery for account messages. Cloudflare Turnstile is used on account forms to detect automated abuse and may process technical request information for that purpose. These providers process information only as needed to supply their services. Personal information is not sold and is not used to place you on a marketing list.
Cookies
WordPress and the member system use strictly necessary cookies for sign-in, security and reliable operation. The site does not intentionally use advertising cookies for the member experience.
Retention
Account details, checklist progress and sharing records are kept while the account is active. They are deleted or anonymised when the account is deleted or a valid erasure request is completed, except where information must be retained for security, legal or dispute purposes. Residual copies may remain in protected backups until those backups expire or are replaced.
Your choices and rights
You can revoke Joris’s checklist access from the checklist at any time. You may also request access to, correction of, export of or deletion of your personal information, and may object to or restrict certain processing where the law provides. Email info@justaflyingdutchman.com with enough detail to identify your account or enquiry. You may also complain to your relevant data-protection authority.
